1. Psalm 47:1-2 … Oh, clap your hands for joy, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! 2 How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!

2. 1Peter 1:8-9 … Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, 9 because you are attaining the goal of your faith – the salvation of your souls.

3. Romans 15:13 …Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

4. Nehemiah 8:10-12 … Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve{sorrow}, for the joy of the LORD is your strength{stronghold, refuge}.” 11 So the Levites calmed all the people, saying, “Be still{hold your peace}, for the day is holy; do not be grieved.” 12 Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send portions of food and to celebrate with great joy, because they now understood the words{gained insight} that had been made known to them.

5. John 16:22-24 … So you have sorrow now: but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. 23 On that day you will ask nothing of Me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in My name, He will give it to you. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

6. Psalm 30:4-5 … Sing to the LORD, you saints of His; and give thanks to His holy name. 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Hebrews 12:1-3 … Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Psalm 4:5-8 … Offer righteous sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD. 6 Many are saying, “Who will show us any good?” Let the smile of Your face shine on us, LORD! {Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O LORD!} 7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and wine. 8 I will lie down and sleep peacefully, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell safe and secure.

9. Psalm 94:18-19 … If I say, “My foot is slipping,” Your mercy {unfailing love, lovingkindness}, O LORD, will hold me up. 19 When worries {anxieties} threaten to overwhelm me, Your consolation {comfort, soothing touch} gives me renewed hope and cheer {delight, bring joy to my soul}!

10. Isaiah 35:1-4,10 … The wilderness and the desert will be glad, and the desert will rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 It will blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the excellency of our God. 3 Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. 4 Say to those with anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

You are long-suffering—do not take me away; think of how I suffer reproach for Your sake. 16 Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.

13. Psalm 51:7-12 … Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Grant me the ultimate joy of being forgiven! Let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

Psalm 65:11-13 … You crown the year with Your good blessings{goodness, kindness}, and You leave abundance in your wake. 12 The pastures of the wilderness drip, and the hills gird themselves with rejoicing{blossom with joy}. 13 The meadows are clothed with flocks and the valleys are covered with grain; They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 … Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive should fail and the fields produce no food, though the flock should be cut off from the fold and there be no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. 19 The Lord GOD is my strength, and He has made my feet like hinds’ feet, and makes me walk on my high places. Galatians 5:22-26 … But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step{walk} with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

21. James 1:2-4 … Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Psalm 84:1-7 … How lovely is your dwelling-place, O LORD Almighty! 2 My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You. 25. Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 … There is nothing better for people than to eat and drink, and to find enjoyment in their work. I also perceived that this ability to find enjoyment comes from God. 25 For no one can eat and drink or experience joy apart from Him. 26 For to the one who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy, but to the sinner, He gives the task of amassing wealth – only to give it to the one who pleases God. This task of the wicked is futile – like chasing the wind!

30. Psalm 126:1-6 … When the LORD brought back the captive ones of Zion, We were like those who dream. 2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” 3 The LORD has done great things for us; We are glad{filled with joy}. 4 O Lord, restore our well-being, just as streams renew the desert. 5 May Those who sow in tears, reap with songs of joy. 6 Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, will come home with songs of joy, carrying their sheaves{harvest}.

Isaiah 61:10-11 … I will be full of joy{greatly rejoice} in the Lord, my soul will be glad in my God; for He has put on me the clothing of salvation, covering me with the robe of righteousness, as the husband puts on a fair head-dress, and the bride makes herself beautiful with jewels.
